Landon Clemens earned his Eagle!

Congratulations to Landon Clemens for becoming an Eagle Scout!  After many years of hard work and perseverance he got it!  An Eagle Court of Honor is being prepared - watch for details.  Landon  is Troop 165's 3rd Eagle Scout, and we know that Scoutmaster Doug Clemens and his wife Tammy are extremely proud of his accomplishments along the trail.  Good job, Landon!

Troop mtg Tuesday night 7pm

Normal troop meeting happening this Tuesday night at 7:00pm.  Class A uniforms for all unless the Senior Patrol Leader says differently.

Hope to see you there!

Good campout at Lawhorn Scout Base

9 of our scouts had a great time down at Lawhorn Scout Base (aka Camp Thunder) this weekend.  They learned some new skills including how to be flexible when plans change.

They were going to do rappelling but the camp staff overbooked the towers and our scouts had to change plans.  So they went to the archery range and learned how to shoot bows and arrows.  The shot 14 arrows and had to get 90 points, which all of our boys.  Jay did a great job as the grubmaster this weekend - the boys especially enjoyed the cinnamon roll cake Sunday morning.  Kevin did a good job bringing a message about the prodigal son at Vespers, and everyone made it back to the scout hut on time and in good shape.  Thanks to Scoutmaster Doug Clemens, Chris Smith, and Aaron Roberts for taking the boys on this campout!

PU scouts from hut at 12:00pm today

The guys will be finishing up the climbing and rappelling campout this morning and returning to the scout hut by 12:00pm.  Many thanks to Doug, Aaron, and Chris for taking the boys down to the Lawhorn Scout Ranch for this fun campout!

Please pick your scout up from the scout hut promptly at 12:00pm.

Troop mtg Tuesday 7pm - Board of Review night

The Climbing and Rappelling campout down at Camp Thunder is this weekend, so the boys will be planning their menus and getting ready for that. If you have not done so already please bring the medical form and permission form in Tuesday night. Scouts will not be able to go on this campout if they have not turned in the forms. (Get the medical form and information here.)

Come ready for a fun meeting!  Contact Nathaniel or Doug with any questions.

Lock-in was a success!

We had most of our younger scouts at the scout hut for a lock-in last night - everyone had a great time! The boys played video games, ate pizza, chilled, and fell asleep watching a movie. Mr. Doug and Mr. David didn't even have to stay up all night. Good job, scouts!

Fish fry a success!

We held our 1st "annual" fish fry on 8/25/12 and it was a great success!  We served over 160 plates of fish, fries, and fixin's to members of our community and got rave reviews.  We had a lady stop on her way to get some fast food and instead she got her lunch from us and loved it!  We even had people come back for seconds later on in the day.

Doug, Bo, Aaron, Tanya, Elaine, Kim, Susan, Cheryl, and Glen all did an outstanding job setting things up, preparing and cooking the fish, keeping drinks flowing, and running the show.  We were able to show off all the hard work that has been put in to the scout hut and tell people about what we've been doing there.

The money we raised is going to be used to support the program of Troop 165.  Many, many thanks to everyone that came out to support the effort!
